Bridger Bowl

So it's almost Christmas and it is going to be a white one for sure. Since finals week it seems like it has been snowing constantly. I got a pass at Bridger Bowl this year so it should be a good ski season for sure. If you are a student at MSU they give you a $100 gift card that you can use anywhere on it mountain. It's nice for lunches and hot chocolate. It has been pretty cold here lately so I've only been up skiing a few times. They recently implemented a bus system from town to the mountain, it's Bridger Bowls part to keep winter cool. It is also convenient not having to drive especially when the roads are bad.
This year Bridger Bowl did its first terrain expansion in thirty years. They opened a new lift to the south of the ski area. This will provide a lot new terrain and should be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to a good season of skiing this year.

Cary Judd Concert

Earlier this evening some friends and I walked downtown to the Leaf and Bean to see Cary Judd. The Leaf and Bean is a local coffee place right in the heart of Bozeman. It is really fun to go there for drinks with friends when I'm downtown. Often they have live music, like tonight, Cary Judd preformed. He aslo put on a show in the SUB today. From Moose, Wyoming, he and spends over half the year touring and playing shows at universities and venues around the country. He was here last spring and also preformed at the SUB and downtown. . Every Friday the ASMSU Concerts puts on a show at noon in the SUB. They are all free and are all ages. Often they have a concert on Friday night as well. It is a really fun service that is offered by ASMSU. I look forward to another semester of awesome music coming to campus. I would really recommend Cary Judd so if you want to hear him check out his myspace http://www.myspace.com/caryjudd

SNOW!

As I was biking through puddles it was raining on my way to classes at 9 am. When I was sitting at work this afternoon I looked outside, still raining. Later on in the afternoon around 2, I was in the Student Union and saw a whiteout through the window. I was so excited to finally see the ground covered. It has been snowing since then and continues to dump. I guess its time to put away the bike and start walking to campus. There had to be at lease six inches on the ground, I can't imagine how much in the mountains. This was a well needed snow, it has been raining here the past couple of days. Big Sky Ski Resort opened on Thanksgiving day with only a few runs. Bridger Bowl projected date is December 12, I think with this new snow it might be possible. (I was up there this weekend getting a Christmas tree and there wasn't much coverage, but should be way better now. We were able to go sledding while we were up on the mountain. I got really excited to ski!) When I came home from class I had to shovel our front sidewalk and the driveway, I guess that's another one of those responsibilities when living off campus. Not a big deal though, its nice to be out there in the snow and getting some exercise. I'm extremely pleased to announce the first real snow of the year!
